There is so much going on in this picture. The green and terracotta colours coupled with cast iron shadows remind me of a late Victorian interior.

Shallow cast-iron bowl sits
Upon a pedestal, black,
Surmounted by smaller urn,
Silver metal sphere within.
Water fell from one t’other.

Cast iron in the tropics
Some Sydney suburbs are fortunate to be graced with cast iron and tropical plants. A far cry from my childhood memories of concrete and weeds in Birmingham, UK.
