When living in a city it is easy to forget the passing of the seasons. Thankfully the distinct lack of vegetation in this picture is not the norm in Sydney.
I cross Railway Square here every morning transferring from one bus to another. Today is special as Spring has sprung!
I remember Sydney as lush and full of life. When we were strolling around one morning searching for a breakfast, we heard these eerie cries and screeches from a flock of birds, so we followed the sounds into this botanical garden right there in the downtown area. As we grew closer to the noise we could see hundreds of these enormous birds flying around and perching in the trees. Turns out they were bats! If I remember correctly they were large fruit bats. Quite and adventure! And all right there in the bustling city of Sydney.
