Seeing palm trees and warm weather always jars my Midwest mentality and Nordic blood. After twenty years in a desert (no snow) it still feels odd not to have dark and snowy days at Christmas.
I agree totally. We are current experiencing endless days of rain. Fortunately for my last week of work before a 2 weeks break, the daily temperature hovers around 23oC instead of the usual 38oC at this time of year.
