Fairies plum and apple bright
Tainted tarts of rhubarb grown
Atop grim reaper berries glow
Oh when will the pale girl sing
Forever splotched from juice stains
We lie hidden from drama and dreams
In the half waking light of dawn’s dusk
Abundant fuzzy peaches fly high
Among lemon scented daisy followers
Purple pringles float aimlessly in the void
Awaiting the jaws of oblivion
Dear Robert,
How you juxtapose fairies and berries with the grim reaper!
Yours sincerely,

Thank you, SoundEagle.
Everything is one when we see the big picture. So are we. Like it or not, we sink or swim together. At 89 it all seems to be part of a journey from the need of an infant until we can grow in loving and finally even love our enemies…..even though we still fight for what we think is good. Love the hanging off the cliff….that’s what it feels like now for me as I face my diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. I’ve had lots of joy in my life, but lots of hard times and losses. There has always been grace for the journey. Though I think we, like Jesus, have to at the end trust even when we don’t understand and feel abandoned by God.
I agree, Eileen, acceptance, forgiveness, and letting go can be challenging and liberating once we give ourselves permission to do so. Sending you gentle {{{HUGS}}}.
The poem has an interesting series of turns from innocence to the dark, especially the last line, wonderful read Robert and I so love your vibrant and expressive art work.
Thank you, Paul 😎
My pleasure indeed Robert ❤️
