Like many cities around the World the industries that brought wealth and stability to Newcastle have mostly disappeared. Social change, the 1989 earthquake and 15 years of neglect has left the 1930s Great Northern Hotel battered and bruised. I hope that the Newcastle regeneration project reaps rewards for the city centre and restoration of its historic buildings.

I am constantly amazed when the World I blindly traipse through reveals something I haven’t seen before. When I first saw these bugs, I thought them to be alive……
On closer inspection I noticed that they are shells left behind by cicadas
Dull sounds of a car radio;
Swishing, vibrating, idling noise;
Clear morning sun illuminates.
You get up, go out and walk;
You walk, wander and enjoy;
You enjoy being alive;
You’re alive, the world’s singing;
You’re singing from the heart;
Your heart’s pulsating with life;
Your life’s enriched by a walk.

The perfume from this shrub in the park combines jasmine with a hint of citrus.
Two boys aged nine and six put on purple velvet trousers and shirts with a small floral motif in shades of purple, lilac and lavender against a white background.
Glimpses of a cold Sping morning can be seen through rivulets in the condensation collecting on metal framed windows.
As page boys they make their way to the Church of the Redeemer, Hagley Road, with three bridesmaids dressed in full length pale lavender gowns. The bride wears white satin; white daisies encircle her waist, form the puff sleeves of the dress and are scattered on the veil.
