These orchid-like flowers line some of the footpaths in Sydney.
Inspiration
Snail Talk
We saw fluoro green ones outside Customs House in Circular Quay last weekend, the pinks cousins above were spotted having a chat this morning in Sydney Park.
The snails are part of the Art and About Festival, more information is available from the ABC: Giant snails slide into Sydney for arts festival
Traffic in front of the House
We were fortunate to see the Rogers and Hammerstein classic, South Pacific at the Opera House last weekend.
Sandstone and Jasmine
I caught the early evening sun on St.Benedict’s while walking from Central Railway Station to Newtown. The intoxicating jasmine fragrance provided relief from the peak hour traffic on Broadway.
Alternate reality
Man made structures like this water tower in Petersham stimulate my imagination. In another dimension this could be a spacecraft launch pad, helipad or lookout. I wonder if in one hundred years from now it will still be here or will it have been transformed into a penthouse residence with 360o views.
Beneath
There is nothing wrong with beneath.
Sometimes I prefer to dwell here
Among earthly things to amuse,
Running the risk of being caught
In tangled grip of undergrowth.
Too much to distract and let go,
Impeding my return aloft.
Inner light shines through the darkness,
Showing me the way to rejoin
The path, to soar above again.
Spring rose
Just over two weeks into Spring, this beautiful old rose has the most heavenly fragrance.
Let the sunshine in
For the third month in a row music has provided inspiration for my response to the Bloggers for Peace challenge:
When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
Age of Aquarius
Aquarius!
Aquarius!Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revelation
And the mind’s true liberation
Excerpt from Age Of Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In, a medley of two songs written for the musical Hair, released as a single by 5th Dimension in 1969. The picture was taken in Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia.

Joy:
Seeing the new green of Spring;
Hearing sounds of the forest;
Crunching of snow underfoot;
The smell of earth after rain;
Cool touch of breeze on hot skin;
Heartfelt bonds of belonging.
There is a place…
A perfect medium to capture Venice
“There is a place where voices sing your beauty;
a place where every breath carves your image in my soul.”~Rumi
