The 418

Warm, wet, watch,
Wait. Early or late?
Here at last.
Shuffle step.
De de-de-de.
Beeeeeeeep.
Shhhhhhhh.
Whir-whir, whir-whir.
Thrown in seat.
Stop. Chug-chug chug-chug,
Start, err rer rer rer,
Bounce bob,
Whir-whir whir-whir
Sway, lurch, stop.
Shhhhhh.
Beeeeeeeep.

Freedom within

20140212-215428.jpg
Progress smothering nature,
Gaia’s screaming in anguish,
Cars cruise, collide, crash and crunch.
I cringe in concrete canyons,
Hard soulless windows watch on.
Kerb calamity beckons,
Artificial high awaits.
Downfall to the high elect,
Will this nightmare ever end,
Not with the current party,
Silence, cruelty, no comment,
Double dissolution time?
Free to believe in being.

Against all odds

After upsizing some of our potted plants we had a spare container which we excitedly filled with begonias. A few days of 35 to 40oC temperatures last Summer resulted in begonia devastation. From the cataclysm a sole survivor popped up in Spring this year, this is its first bloom.

Grave Blue Yonder

Earth’s clear blue eyes hint at fathomless depths,
Ripples sparkle by moonlight, in sunshine,
Zigzag squiggles dance to an unheard song,
Rainbow patterns entice the weary soul.

Bubbles show momentary glimpse below,
Effervescent beads surge upwards, pop, pop.
Eddies undulate to sooth, to caress,
Soft touch belies a harsh fatality.
