The green moss on the rocks proved to be extremely slippery when wet. The personal cost of taking this picture was a bashed right knee, a grazed left elbow and wet feet.
Mossman Gorge
A cooling retreat from the 32oC heat in downtown Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge offers rainforest walks and a waterhole for swimming. Not many people opted for the 2km circuit walk up the side of the gorge down to the creek and back up again. The earthy smells of fertile soil, decaying vegetation and unpolluted air was intoxicating.

WALKING ON EMPTY HEADS // September 30th 2013
Bangkok-based artist Nino Sarabutra filled the floor of Ardel Gallery in Bangkok with 100,000 miniature porcelain skulls and invites visitors to step on them, during her exhibition called “What will you leave behind?”. As her friends, family, and neighbors to helped make the skulls, she asked them to contemplate their life and think about what they would leave behind.
Basing her artwork on the Isan proverb “Death follows your every step. Until waking up in the morning and seeing each other’s face, it is uncertain we are still alive”, the artist wanted to highlight the fact that life is short and needs not be wasted. The purpose of the show is to stimulate people’s thoughts to make them aware that any day could be their last, thus encouraging every one of the visitors to get out there and do something.
