Peeping out from next to the hibernating Frangipani was a miniature blushing white bloom. With thanks to our wonderful next door neighbour the gum leaves complement the Spring rose beautifully.
Glorious gum flowers, Sydney, Australia.
Sydney, Australia, is in that Spring phase when it’s warm one day (22oC) and chilly the next (17oC).
On the cooler days the red and green of this gum tree remind me of Yuletide in northern hemisphere.
The sunshine was so bright yesterday that I couldn’t see if I’d managed to capture this little critter. His shell was about the size of my smallest finger nail; impressive camouflage against the bark of the gum tree!
I find all components of the gum tree fascinating. I recently discovered the beauty of their flowers.
The berries on this tree remind me of bubble gum
My great local is Morton Park;
For walking Stan and birds to hark
Smell the Oleander tree,
Flowers, palms and shrubs to see,
Tall gums, gingers, lilies too;
Sunshine, clouds and skies of blue.
Space for picnics and to play,
Shortcut home or sit and stay.
The shades of red and green
Can’t be missed, must be seen!
