Rose Bay Resident

Leave city bustle and tours,
Head over to the eastern shores,
To enjoy a rosy afternoon.
If you don’t leave too soon,
This bayside resident you’ll meet;
Eats à la carte; Pelican Pete.

A typical example of a turn of the 20th century Sydney suburban house; single storey, double fronted with a tin roof. What is unusual is its neglected appearance.

The setting sun’s rays catching the ridge tiles on the roof and the watery looking clouds caught my eye.

This former tram booking office has been renovated as part of an upgrade of Newtown railway station. Built at the turn of the 20th century this building has been repurposed for retail. It stands in stark contrast to the former tram sheds featured on this blog earlier this month Urban decay.

I just checked into Sydney International airport. I was cleared through passport control and experienced my first body scan. After a walk that felt like miles I arrived at the lounge.

I don’t know why I looked at my boarding pass after eating a light breakfast. The surname was correct, not the first name though. So much for airport security!
