I hate this, Robert … can’t they turn them in to condos or apartments? Paris and New York now have laws making it illegal to tear down the façade of an historical building. So what looks like an 18th-century townhouse looks like the 25th century once you walk inside. In other words, it works.
There have been a number of proposals, including, a shopping centre, sports complex and car park. Development is happening in the area, I will post when there is an update.
So of course one wonders… why not instead shift the funds for paint, equipment and labor to restoration? To Mark’s above comment, it’s been successfully accomplished before. Elected decision-makers — I refer to most as “oblivions.”

I agree, the depot was decommissioned in 1960, it’s high time for the site to be reinvigorated
