I got ‘razor’ burn on my neck this week although not from shaving. I wore a polyester cotton shirt. As the ratio was not included on the washing instructions I’m guessing 90/10. The 10 would have been enough for the thread to secure the buttons!

The former Customs House, on the corner of Alfred and Young streets completed in 1845, was altered in 1887 and 1903. Conservation and renovation of the building took place 1995 to 1997.

Standing tall
The AMP Building on the corner of Alfred and Young streets was Sydney’s first skyscraper. Completed in 1962 it was designed by Peddle Thorp and Walker.

House of the blues
Sydney Opera House (1957 – 1973) is a masterpiece of late modern architecture. It is admired internationally and proudly treasured by the people of Australia. It was created by young Danish architect, Jørn Utzon.

Concrete tree?

This is the Mushroom (MLC Centre), Martin Place, designed by Australian architect Harry Siedler. Built in 1977, it houses the CTA (Commercial Traveller’s Association) Club.

Park life
The sunshine was so bright yesterday that I couldn’t see if I’d managed to capture this little critter. His shell was about the size of my smallest finger nail; impressive camouflage against the bark of the gum tree!
Earthbound sunshine
Long periods without rain and frequent lawn mowing are everyday challenges for this cheerful non-native in the nearby park.
I wonder if these dandelions have evolved into keeping their heads small and stems short?
